I have an almost new Genz Benz Shuttle 6.2 and I have two Eden EX112 cabs that are 8 ohms each. I have used the head a few times now at practice and one gig and I have noticed that no matter what the "Peak" light is flashing almost constantly at any volume around half way or higher. The gain or gain volume has never gone over half way. Does anyone else have this issue? Is it common? Is it something to worry about? It doesn't fart out or clip at all. What could I be doing wrong?

No, the signal light is right below the peak. I wouldn't say the peak is constant but flashing on and off for about 60% of the time or so.
And the signal light is blue while he peak is yellow. I thought I might be seeing a bleed through from the signal light because I am tall and my rig is so small but not the case

If you have a hot bass, it is entirely possible with those gain/volume settings, to get the peak LED to flash. It's also possible if you are using a lot of eq (boost). Just turn down a bit. That's more peak LED duration than I would recommend over the long haul. What speaker are you using? What are your expectations?

Mine does the same thing - I figured it was because I have a high-output (hot) bass and it's letting me know. It's a bit distracting since the blue LED is *crazy* bright, but it sounds just fine. I'm quite pleased with what appears to be one of the last GB amps produced (I got it at a local store on clearance for *cheap*!)
SDH, the blue LED is the signal LED, that's supposed to flash when there is enough input... The OP was talking about the yellow peak LED, above the blue signal LED. Are you also getting the peak LED flashing a lot ?
Ah... Well, I'd like my little blue LED to flash a bit less just because it is like freakin' laser!

That amp has a ton of gain on tap, and a ton of boost available on the eq. I usually have the gain and volume at around 10:00, 11:00 max. Your input signal will affect this as well. Try starting with both around 9:00, and don't be afraid to crank the master to get the volume you need. The taper on the master is very linear on the shuttle series, which is very different from most amps.

I have two Eden EX112 8ohm, 300w speakers. I'll have to play around with the EQ I guess. My expectations are to hang with the band volume wise and be able to do stand alone shows at small to medium size venues. The places where we would normally not have PA support. I play with a 2012 Fender MIA P bass most of the time.
I guess that is my issue. I've never had the gain or gain volume above 12. I'd say its normally around 11. But it starts "peaking' when the master is over 12. I will play around with the EQ this week and see if that helps.

Just turn down a bit and that will also take care of the issue. Excessive low frequency boost on the eq will also require a lot more power than moderate settings.
You should have plenty of volume before getting near the peak with that head. What's the overall band volume at?
I sometimes run my 9.2 into an 8 ohm 212 Avatar cab (so less wattage is going out than your 6.2 is putting into a 4 ohm load) and any sort of sustained playing at peak levels would be deafening.

mine does that when it's really middy, and sharp between 1-2k I find. just kinda even out your signal so you punch thru but don't shoot past, and you should be fine. im pretty sure the light just means that compression is kicking in anyways?

I have been thinking of picking up twp of these Eden cabs. I play P bass too. My loudest gigs are either jazz fusion gigs or casual with occasional lighter rock and roll tunes. How you like these cabs? How are they as a pair at gig volumes?
