Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 with pre-amp?

Hello,
I am new here due to a couple questions I have.
I will start with 1 on this post...
Can I run a pre-amp into my Genz Benz 9.0? I am a tone freak and can not get the tone I seek. I would like to tap into the power of my Genz Benz but use a pre-amp to obtain a different tone. Is this possible?

Yes, plug the output of the preamp into the effects receive jack on the back of the Genz. The Shuttles were designed to perform this exact function. They work very well as small but powerful power amps.

Ok, I have read the owners manual and it states that Jack is for pedals (like a chorus, ect...). I am going to try a Sansamp RBI, rack mounted unit.

Pedals and preamps typically have similar output levels. You can easily plug your Sansamp or other rack-out style pre-amp into the effects receive. It will work fine.

I think you mis-read or mis-understood the owner's manual, here's the text below that pertains to your needs:

EFFECTS LOOP – A rear panel effects loop (SEND and RECEIVE jacks) is provided for connecting “serial” outboard devices such as compressors and may also be used for parallel type outboard devices (delays, reverbs, harmonizers, octavers etc.) by using the mix control located on the outboard device. This loop is located right before the Master Volume control and is also intended as a Preamp Out / Power Amp In connection for possible “chaining” of amplifiers in a Master / Slave configuration. The effects “loop” contains a “normal switch” in the receive jack that interrupts the signal path when a plug is inserted into the receive jack. The send jack may be used for an aux. output without breaking the signal path.

This is exactly what you are doing, using the loop's input as a power amp input. The "master / slave" connection is where the preamp out on the master amp (or stand alone preamp) is fed to the power amp input on the slave amp. Your Sansamp preamp can deliver line level output, but there may be a switch to select between line level and instrument level output so double-check. You will need line level.
