how do you like the tone? is it a reasonable 300w?? did you hear the 6.0? how is the tone different?
I ended up trading in my Mesa Walkabout for the 6.0.
The amp is incredible. The amp with the Whappo Jr is incredible squared.
how do you compare and contrast the 6.0 tone with the walkabout tone???
Both amps have a lush smoothness and depth that I don't get from SS amps. Maybe its from the tube front end. My other SS amps (GK800rb, SWR) have a grittiness that I don't care for, but the Mesa and Shuttle both eliminate that. They have similar tone at low and medium levels. Both can get loud. The Shuttle 6.0 gets a lot louder without breaking up, and just seems to have more command and control of the sound. Both have sweepable mids, though the Mesa does have more options there. I have not missed the options on the Shuttle though.

Just do a search on RSBL to get the full rundown. The amp is rated at 600 watts, but 450 of them are driving the RSBL's!so "retina searing blue laser leds" are a positive thing....

I'm looking to get a 3.0-10" shipped to New Zealand and would appreciate dealer reccomendations from anyone outside of the Us who's bought a Shuttle or other GB product.

what do people think about the sound of the 10t cab?? just the cab with whatever head, maybe the 6.0?? or should I stick with the idea of getting an epifani UL110 instead?? I figure the GB is about 6 Lbs lighter and $80 more...
Well, I bought the 3.0-10T combo because I needed the lightest weight amp, yet enough power to fill the church I play at.
I already have my "big" rig: SWR Mo' Bass head w/ Goliath 4x10 cab. That one gives 650W into 8ohms and can go up to 1200W with the right cabs @ 2ohms... So I only needed a small, portable amp for church. I had a Behringer BX-1200, but it weighed 50lbs. and sounded "flat." It was 120W, but I always had to push it hard to be heard. Since the amp has to be moved back and forth between the sanctuary and the choir room, the 18lb. Shuttle is a blessing already! My music director was skeptical about the small size, but when I fired it up, he and I were both blown away at how much louder and defined it sounded! Even when the house was full with our congregation, the 18lb. "giant" breezed through like a megaton champ! It also preserves all the character of my Warwick Thumb bass - I could hear the "growl" and "snap" of my bass for the first time in a packed room! And I can take it home now - just throw the bass in its RockBag case on my shoulder and carry the Shuttle in my hand - one trip and I'm done. Amazing!
BTW, I compared the 3.0-10T to a 6.0-210T and the only tonal difference is when you crank the tube gain on the 6.0. As for volume, the 6.0 had more headroom to turn up more, but the overall perceived volume wasn't that much more. In fact, the 3.0 was plenty enough for my needs and if I were to add the 1x10 extension cab to give me 300W @ 4ohms, it would be WAY too much! But I might still get the extra cab for medium size gigs in the future...
The Shuttles are the best thing since sliced bread, and they're practically made right in my own back yard!

I remember someone saying if you don't mind waiting a little bit they have a great price on the 6.0 That's good to remember.
I got my 6.0-12T for less than the $1199 shipped I have been seeing, even after tax. I just got a call from the shop to tell me that it will be 2+ weeks before I get it. Seems there is a large demand.
I heard Genz-Benz made the first batch to cover a month's worth of initial sales and they already are getting enough orders to cover a year's worth of product! These things are making Mark Bass users turn from their LMIIs. We'll have to see how they do against Phil Jones Bass products; I haven't played the Phil Jones stuff - it looks like a solid product, but I passed on it for three reasons: 1. None of their products is as light weight as the 3.0-10T; 2. Their lightest amps have nowhere near the power of the 3.0-10T (and the models that do have the power weigh over twice as much!); 3. The prices were considerably higher to buy an amp that already falls short on points 1 and 2. I'm sure the PJB amps are superior products, but I find the Genz-Benz Shuttles to be better for the money - and I haven't even compared the 6.0 combos! Fantastic stuff!
I was looking for a flexible, smaller rig. Something that A) wasn't a ton to carry; B) had rich, warm sound; C) could cover practice and rehearsal and D) handle larger gigs w/o bulk; and E) could live in a nicely decorated finished blend into the room.
I thought I'd get a combo. Played literally dozens. And then the Shuttle hit the market. I got the 6.0 and paired it with a Bergie HT112ER. Just loved to tube tone compared to the 3.0. And I felt it was quant louder. Great "old-school" sound with new tricks. Light. "Hides" behind the arm of a sofa. Covered me for practice amp. Now I am adding a EX112ER. So I'll be able to leave one cab at the guitar player's where we practice, use the other cab for a small practice rig at home, play out w/one cab for smaller rooms at 375W w/one cab, and go to 600W w/stacked cabs for larger gigs. Plus, all broken down into two cabs, shuttle head and bass, all the gear fits in a small-ish 4-dr car. Which works for me.
For me, it's a win-win-win-win-win. Yeah, I'm happy.

No, price has nothing to do with it, it's just when I read about the dedication of Phil Jones to use the best parts and components and his design philosophies, it appears he is making a very pro-quality product. As for superior, I do not mean superior to Genz-Benz, but in a superior class along with Genz-Benz.
Having not played or heard a PJB amp, I cannot pass an informed judgment on them, but I can compare cost and features, and in those categories, the Genz-Benz Shuttles are the clear winner! Then when I consider the sound I'm getting from my Shuttle, I have no reason to pursue a PJB amp any further...
