Genz/Speakon question

I did a search but could not find the exact answer to what I am looking for.

I bought a GBE 750 from a fellow TBer and yesterday I bought an XB 210 cabinet from the local GB dealer. I asked him for a speakon cable. The cabinet says passive pins 1+, 1-. The 750 manual says 1+, 1-. The dealer guy gives me a NL4FX cable with the ends marked 2-, 2+. I have GK equipment so I am used to seeing the 2-, 2+ markings. I told him that I thought that was the wrong cable and he says that's the only kind they sell. He says the amp will default (wth?) to whatever it needs from the cable. I think he is wrong. My limited Speakon knowledge tells me that this cable won't work and that I should actually be looking for an NL2FX cable (the 2 denoting a 2 pin connection).

Are my thoughts correct or will the cable he gave me actually work?

If it's an NL-4 with all 4 conductors wired through, then it will work just fine. If it's 2+/2- only, it will not work with the GB amps nor with probably 99% of everything else out there either. 1+/1- is standard for almost all applications except where biamping is involved.

An NL2 cable is wired 1+/1- and does not contain the 2+/2- terminals. Note that the NL-2 cable connectors will work with either NL2 or NL4 panel mount connector on 1+/1- but an NL-4 cable connector will only work with other NL-4 panel connectors and not with NL-2's.
