It seems that Martin Scorsese's latest project is a film about George Harrison, using never before seen material from his personal archives. According to an interview I saw, this took years on and off working with George's widow.

The trailer on the above web site makes me want to see the film NOW!!!!!

How did I not know about this until this past week???

It will be a two-part HBO series. It is scheduled to be broadcast in October, exact dates have not been announced.

A few weeks ago, my local PBS station aired a documentary titled "An Accidental Studio," which chronicles the birth and development of HandMade Films, George's film production company. It contains some fascinating footage of George himself, along with interviews with several Monty Python players, and paints a nice portrait of George's less-serious side. Worth tracking down if you can find it.

He wrote a few good songs, but I think the Beatles might have worked with another lead guitarist too.

Yeah, I haven't been very attentive, and I just learned about this film about 3.5 hours ago and just watched it and wow it was good.
