Double Bass German Bow Button Fell Off

I was playing in the orchestra last thursday when all of a sudden my ebony button on my bow fell off. When I slipped it back on there is some looseness to its fit. Is the fix required for this something that I can do myself? I am trying to think of a glue that would do a good job that I can apply myself (in a dorm).

By button you mean the tightening screw? You can use some 5-minute epoxy on it to reattach it to the metal shaft. Gently tap it into place as far as it will go but don't hit it too hard or you'll split it. This might be a good temporary means at the least. Might be better to get a replacement when you can.
