A bike would be almost totally impractical for me as my main vehicle--for short trips in summer (& possibly parts of spring & fall)--sure.
For recreation & exercise--sure.
But as my main vehicle it just wouldn't work given the roads, weather/climate, and the drivers as well.
Some of the places I would go I take major roads where bikes are not safe to drive (And on some are actually banned)--and to drive around would add a ton of time--much of the time there are natural &/or manmade barriers that a bike path through it would not be practical--although there are places that have bike paths that could actually save some time.
And there a couple of places I walk to because I can cut through alleys & walkways & do that faster than one way streets &/or places you can't turn left.
but overall--no practical.
i also know people with physical limitations where this would not work at all.
But for the people who live in places where it works & who don't have any huge obstacles--hey--go for it.
