Get this...

So I just put some new pickups in my SX SPJ 62. The pickups are EMG Selects, and I also replaced the pots/output jack and rewired everything. Basically I just completely gutted it and started over. Lets just say first that the new pups/pots are a big improvement tonally.

There's one thing I can't wrap my head around though... No matter which way I turn my knobs, it will not turn off. There is no 0 on either volume pot, they seem to just go from 1-11. The tone pot functions as it should, but when you turn the volume pots down volume goes up, and when you turn them up it goes down. But never off. With both volume pots at full (Read: off), there is still some volume, and when I crank the tone pot, it gets loud again.

I'm pretty sure I wired it exactly like the little diagram EMG sent with the pickups. I even took it apart today and compared to the diagram and everything is where it should be.

Does anyone have any idea why it's doing this?

I have tried Select and proper EMG's and I have to say the selects are not worth it. They are not bad, but not worth it. Go get a full EMG pickup and your tone will scare you! Also they come with pots, so no need to worry about having the wrong values/ wiring, which is what it sounds like you have.

That's all well and good... but I'm not gonna put $200 pickups in a $120 bass. Gonna put some DCs in my schecter at some point, but that's a different story.

I realize my first post was somewhat garbled, but can anyone show any insight as to what might cause my wiring problem?
