Get togethers (BGT) and cross posting to increase awareness

I rarely check the BGT section and i wonder how many even know it exists.
I know a lot of bassists would be interested in attending, if they were aware.
Any thoughts about getting the word out for upcoming events?

Yes, I have some ideas. First, I think I'll change the GTG forum structure from regional subforums, to one forum with thread prefixes. That way all GTG threads are visible in one forum, and you'll be able to filter on geo region just like you can filter FS / Sold etc in the classifieds.

Second, I may post a notice asking all GTG hosts to email me when an event is near so I can publicize it.

Paul, what about a new heading under alert preferences?

Something like:

"Alert me when a new get-together thread is posted in my region"

That way whenever a new GTG thread is posted with the "Northeast" prefix, I'd get a notification.
