This is my first "real" post other than intro here so thanks in advance and from what I've seen around here, this place is great.
So I am in the market for something "new" to me but don't mind buying used. I have been watching my local craigslist and come across these that caught my interest...
If these are a members posts on CL then feel free to PM about the basses.
Ibanez EX Series 5 Sting-looks to be passive for $75(I'm aware it's fairly old model) I wouldn't mind putting some money into it in the future if need be.
Ibanez BTB300BG 4 string - $280
I would more than likely try to get both. I want a 5 string but a 4 as well for the separate tunings so I don't have to keep re-tuning or get "off" gauge strings for the 5 to tune to E standard or C, etc.
EDITED: This looks to be the EX, although there isn't a large "EX" on the head. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
Looking mainly at those 2 or a single 4/5 that would please.
I am not partial to ESP or Ibanez for any reason other than they seem to offer the best tone for me(good lows while still nice mids/highs) and Ibanez seems to offer good basses for lower price points. I do know that the BTB300BG is a very trust worthy bass from reviews(or lack there of).
Examples of what I play are, Black Sabbath, Killswitch Engage, Boston, In Flames, Godsmack, Sevendust, Cky, HIM, Monster Magnet, Deftones, Coheed and Cambria and so on. The idea being getting or staying versatile to a point.
I like to be more of a notable bass influence in songs rather than just "pounding" along to mimic guitar.
