Getting audio from a video?

I want to save mp3 clips from DVD movies... I have no idea where to start..

Mac or PC? Theres some programs that will rip any audio that audio coming from your comuter. I use Audio Hijack Pro on my Macbook and it's really cool. It was an EQ and a few other goodies. I'll see if I can find something for PC.

Google is the place to start. I had a program that did this but I have no idea where it came from or what it was called. I found it using Google though, and there were plenty to choose from. Try searching for something like 'Free dvd audio ripper'.

Run the audio out from the DVD player into an input on your stereo receiver.

Run RCA cables from the record outputs of the receiver to the audio in on your computer (you'll need the red,white to 1/8" cable).

Record on your computer (on PC it's "sound recorder")

Save as wave files.

First, a Mac is a PC.

You can use Avidemux (http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/) be it on Linux, Windows, BSD or OS X. And it is a good video editor

Personally, on my Dell I just use Audacity to record any audio running off my soundcard. Works perfectly.
