Getting gigs at crappy bars?

That's horrible. I have some rowdy friends but if they are going to ruin more relationship with a potential business contact then I won't envite them if there is a chance that could happen. You go in there, give em a demo, talk and smooze these bar owners, develop a relationship with them. It's all cool they trust you and book a few shows and after all that work and time by inviting the wrong person all that is lost! I take responsibility for the people I ask to come as well. You can't avoid every drunkem altercation but if the person has a history of being a nasty drunk then I don't ask them to come.

Yeah it's a great point for others as well not just us. I've seen it happen before so your right it was worth mentioning. I'm lucky I don't have too many nasty drunk friends, drunks many drunks as friends but none are nasty. I take that back I don't talk to that dude anymore because he wanted to fight everyone when he was drunk even his friends. Good Point! So the lesson here is do not ruin all that hard work by enviting the town drunk even if he is a great person sober.
