Not a huge fan but they're not horrible, listening to the new album today and the bass tone is awesome

Ghost new album

I'm a big fan of the Meliora and earlier, later material is okay but they're really leaning into this 80s pop/hair rock thing that makes my skin crawl. Prequelle and this latest definitely have some bangers, though, and my 7 year old drummer son is actually really getting into the new album today.
Bass tone, as well as the mix and playing, is consistently fantastic. When I first got into ghost, it was in the 'mystery band' era, but I had a hunch the principal sign writer was a bass player...turns out it's Tobias Forge, who was a bass player in a few projects before ghost. I don't think we hear his playing on later albums, but the song writing, arrangement, production, tones... that's him, and he definitely likes to hear bass in his music.
Really listen to those lines...some deceptively interesting, complex playing in and around the main riffs.

It's definitely tasty playing on all their albums, I've probably listen to most of their stuff (or his stuff, however you want to put it) this album just does it for me.
It's allegedly Tobias playing bass on Prequelle and Impera. On Opus it's Gustav Lindstrom, Infestissumam is Rickard Ottoson, and on Meliora it's Henrik Palm.
