For years I have been a fan of GHS Pressure Wound Strings. Have them on my P-Basses. I love how smooth they sound and sit somewhere between flats and rounds in regards to tone. Plus love how they feel!
Well these strings are also EXCELLENT for use on Kramer basses! Due to the aluminum necks, the Kramer basses are inherently bright to begin with. Using the GHS strings tames that high end zing and brightness without sacrificing any punch. Both my Kramer basses (1979 DMZ 4001B and 1979 DMZ 6000B) are probably my best sounding basses. They work in any venue or genre and cut through the mix better than any other bass I own, including my Fodera! So if you have an old vintage Kramer, I highly recommend the GHS PW strings!
And since this always comes up with these Kramer basses, mine are not boat anchors or suffer from bad neck dive! I had an original BC Rich Eagle that weighed allot more!!
