GIANTS!!!

My geographically close proximity sports team is still far better than yours.. no, really.. Otherwise the sun don't rise..

You know, I was thinking about why I root for the Patriots, and that was basically the best answer I could come up with. They're close to me which means I can watch all of their games because they're all broadcast on local TV. Oh, I've seen a couple of shows at their stadium too. But that's about it. :D

+1 :D

but that would be the 2004 ALCS....

i'm not only saying this because im the biggest yankee fan on this board ( imo of course lol ) but that 2004 series does NOT compare to this at all.. i mean seriously do you know all that cash lost in vegas? and around the world... wow is all i can say..not at all.. 2004? sure a HUGE upset.. NOTHING like this though..

Glad someone got it.. :D:p

I've always wondered why people will get so attached to sports teams.. I've seen it to a point that some meatheads will physically fight because they didn't like what someone said about their favorite team's QB or whatever.. it always cracks me up cause essentially other than passively watching the games and lining the pockets of the team owner by buying shirts and hats, they have no connection to the team.. yet they feel more connected to their team than they do their own families..

That said, I love the sox..

:eyebrow::D

Well, considering that the Yankees had 4 chances to win the series (by this I mean they won the first three games, but couldn't win the next 4 games), compared to a single game showdown like the superbowl, I disagree. Don't get me wrong, this Super Bowl upset was huge, and likely the biggest in NFL history, but I'm pretty sure the biggest all-time pro sports choke award goes to the 2004 Yankees....who inevitably let the Red Sox go on to win their first world series in 86 years.

EDIT: but enough about baseball. :D Congrats to the NY Giants! They played a killer game!

Why they will lose:

I could go on, but you get the point.....
THose were some pretty good reasons!!!!! 18-1 isn't a bad record.:p

I do believe I heard one of the Dolphins DENY that they never toasted when someone failed at beating their record.....bet they are toasting now, if they say they are not or will not...THEY ARE LIARS:eyebrow:

As a lifetime Dolphin fan, it's well known that they drink to the memory of their team when a previously undefeated team takes a loss, so it'd be pretty odd if one of them denied it...I doubt that you heard the whole interview. I'm sure they're elated that the Pat's lost, I sure was - but that being said I'll admit that this WAS one of the very best NFL teams fielded for a season. When you put together the talent level, and the fact that their key players stayed healthy all year (except R. Seymour in the beginning of the year) they executed their games as well as anyone EVER. I sure didn't see the Giants playing that tough though...man, what a defense! Way to stay in Brady's grille!!!

This was the best post season run ever. On the road, total underdog, beating the ultimate team in the SB. Man the Giants defense was possessed.

That final drive proves that Eli is for real, and I wasn't sold on him until that final drive.

SWEET!

And that'd be me ...... :ninja::rollno::rolleyes:

I'm thrilled for the Giants, what a turn-around from the early part of the year both in terms of skill set and attitude! Especially the last 3rd of the season .... that's the first time in many years that Big Blue actually played and acted like a team instead of a bunch of publicity seeking egomaniacs.

It's been a great season for me this year ... because I was hatin' on the Giants for so long I was able to get to know the Steelers better. It'll be nice to have a team to root for in each conference.

Last nights game was probably the best game I have ever watched. Props to the Pats for a great season, but the NY Giants ARE the BEST TEAM IN THE NFL!!!! :cool:
You knew I was going to have to poke you atleast one more time, right? :p ;) :D

Definately one of the best SB's ever. I actually enjoyed watching this game more than watching my team, the Colts, win last year.

I guess Strahan's prediction wasn't too far off. He actually predicted a little high as 21-17 but not bad. ;) Hmm, no Tiki and no Shockey and the Giants win the big one. I think something changed in that locker room this season and it definately was for the better! Congrats again Giants and Giants fans! :cool:
