Gibson 2015 Thunderbird

Thank you kindly. May I ask how to address the Thunderbird Club with my plight?

Please just drop the question into the thread you do not have to be a member to post there, we really do enjoy questions such as yours there, and the "search" function is widely ignored.
I will say that the 2015 is really cool variation of the tradition concept of the Thunderbird, purists may not like it, but bassists would find it to be very flexible tonally with it's multitude of switching options - Anybody telling you that's it's "mud" doesn't understand how to EQ or set this bass up, in the future I think these will go up in value as their significance is recognized.

I picked up my 2015 a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it! It’s extremely versatile and more comfortable to play than I ever imagined. Also, I can vouch for the T-bird club; they are very helpful and welcoming!

TBird your word is good enough for me. You have been very helpful over the past years 12 years. I have been the owner of 5 Birds (including a 2015)over the years and phased them out foolishly. Now having to be a little more organized in my 'collection' and space I realized what was missing. I came across the 2015 & 1989 the same day and realized what was missing in my life (!) and a choice is imminent immediately. Re the 2015 I had a bit of a problem getting my string settings right, with the more powerful poles causing a chorus effect as I liked my strings close to the fingerboard. I think I was hasty and did not take full advantage of the Babicz bridge options where I could really tweak that issue. Besides the DeCola on it's own is basically a TB+. In any case time is of the essence and I'll soon join the club (you mean all these years the was a Thunderbird Club here?). Maybe a good thing I did not join then as I would have been thrown out for having forsaken my TBird collection for some...F''#ders. Thanks for your encouraging words and support.

Just FYI, the '89 is every bit as significant from the pickup standpoint, they are nothing at all like the later ceramic magnet types that were used later on, rather they are '76 guts in plastic covers, some were potted in epoxy some not.
Further the early years of the re-issue have very little pitch to the neck as compared to later on and are actually pretty desirable from the "player" standpoint, I love mine, the neck is thin and very fast, it balances well - I use Lull pickups and have traded out the the black hardware for chrome and some Hipshot tuners.
