I have one just like that bass and I have to tell you I really love this bass. It's an amazing instrument.
Yes, I agree wholeheartedly. I was trying out both this one and a Money bass...the Money bass had a much easier neck, but when it came to sound, there was no competition. The Les Paul had a nice, full sound with lots of punch and sustain.
Im not in this club yet but I will be soon. I played a Reissue SG bass today and loved the short scale. Im fed up with exoic tops and such. I've been watching Allen Woody videos on Youtube and have fallen in love with scratched up Gibsons. Save me a seat! Im coming back to this thread soon! Just got to figure out which one is right for me.

Not to be a bad influence but look on youtube for anything older by Free, Andy Fraser is beyond brilliant with an EB.......it'll get you there that much faster

It may have cracks all through the finish... it may have holes from where all the plates, etc... were. It may have 43 years of abuse signs... that just means that it's got mojo. And that EMG select gives it a tone that is just pure awesome sauce.
I intend on having some restoration work done to it in the future... it deserves it after all its been through over the years.

I have a Honey-burst one. Great bass , just really heavy{ at 11 pounds}. But a really great bass
They will be flipped lefty in a couple days.
The more I play my Money Bass the more I like it. Last week I used it on a few tracks a friend was recording---it records great!
It's great because it's so heavy. You get a lot of resonance for all that lumber.
