heres the difference between the epi and the gib.but before i start, they are both great basses, reguardless of the brand name.the gibson, naturally has better qualities though.
ok,1.the gibson's body is much thinner and lighter,as the epi's is a bit heavier, and also thicker.this is just because both use different woods.all in all the gibson is MUCH lighter
2.the epi's neck is much thicker than the gibson's,its about as thick as a p-bass's neck, where the gibson is around a j bass width.also the epi's neck is laminated, and the gibson's isnt.
3.different fret boards on each
4.the gibson has different pickups than the epi.the gibson seems more comparable to a jazz bass, where the epi is more like a P.
and 5.the input jack is on the bottom of the gibson, where the input is on the face of the epi.
those were the main differences that i noticed between the two, both of which are great.but either way i hope i could help, and sorry my reply is alittle late.but you should pick which ever bass feels the best to YOU.thats the best way to go.
