gibson grabber project good or bad idea?

I think you could find better. By time you factor the neck repair and parts to get it original, you’ll be to deep.
FYI: a Fender style replacement neck won’t fit unless you re-rout the body’s neck pocket.
 
the neck could be repaired.. 300 is high for it.. even for a project.. for double that you could find a decent player Grabber.. this one has the Schaller tuners and bridge.. the guard and the P bass pickup in it.. and most likely replacement pots..

the case is what it is.. lol.. they suck.. mine does..
 
I just recorded with a grabber that has been repaired in the same exact spot, go figure.. The thing would NOT stay in tune. I had to tune way too often, even for recording. Forget about playing it live if you don't want to tune in between every song.
