hi everyone im looking forward to buy a gibson les paul bass guitar. i never tryed it but i wanna know what do you guys think of them. i play alot of blues and i hope it sounds great so i need help

Agreed. I've never played a Les Paul bass and enjoyed the way it feels nor the way they sound. Fender make great basses to start out on for any genre.
Not a fan of gibson les paul basses either. For gibson basses I think the ripper, grabber, where their best ones. Followed by thunderbird and sg shape basses.
my son has a '94 LP bass. fantastic instrument. sounds very good for rock or blues and there's never a problem with hearing it the mix. neck dive is no worse than other basses I own or have played. the only comments I've ever heard about it have been positive, from the look to the sound. I think the LP is a greatly underrated bass.
Had a mid 90's 5 string LPB. Didn't really like it, so I gave it to my boy. He did like the way it played and sounded. So I guess it's 50/50 here.
OP: have you checked out the new Gibson Les Paul "oversized body" basses? Do a google search. They look saWEET! The body is, IMO, more appropriately sized for the instrument. The body is chambered so it doesn't weigh a ton. IMO, all previous Les Paul basses should be labeled as "undersized" because the new ones are correctly sized. There are three colors to choose from: cherry sunburst, gold top, and black (IMO, the black looks the best because it matches the black headstock.......all three have the black headstock).

I bought a Gibson V 5 string in 87' and love it, the soap bar pups are very deep and strong down low with not a lot of top end so I use round wounds and a fair amount of treble boost... it's been a mainstay for me over the last 24 years.
About $1600.00, there's a black one in my future
hold up i just found a les paul bass ebony going for $999 on the web and its was a les paul standard

I agree. I play a Ric and I think the Ripper rivals it in tone for sure.
And...I wanted so badly to see Duff playing a Les Paul bass the first time I looked up what he played, years ago...
I have a Gibson Money bass, which was a limited double-cutaway LP Bass variant from a few years ago. It's one of my favorite basses ever. Plays and sounds fantastic. They don't make them currently but I think they still come up for sale fairly regularly.
