gibson les paul bass

If you really want to go Gibson, there is a tangerine burst vintage Victory Artist on eBay. The Victory series was a great competition to Fender in the late '70s and early '80s. It really did feel a lot like a P bass but had better tone range, at least IMHO.

That is what I would do. Heck, I might just buy it after talking about it.

Had a LP Triumph bass back in the 70's. Awesome sound. Heavy. Always had a problem with the strap coming loose at the worst time and dropping it. That was before straplocks came around. Put the strap knob on the back to cure that. I didn't like the short scale which seemed to compromise the clarity of the notes, if that makes any sense. Wish I had kept it instead of trading it in.

hi everyone im looking forward to buy a gibson les paul bass guitar. i never tryed it but i wanna know what do you guys think of them. i play alot of blues and i hope it sounds great so i need help:hyper:

Are you talking about the new oversized long scale Les Paul Bass or the old short scale ones?

The old short scale ones are very suitable for Blues, Blues rock etc.
Very even sounding bass. Excellent tone. Deepest lows, clearest highs and everything in between.

...Yes, I'm a fan

[sarcasm] Haven't you been on TB long enough to know that if you ask for advice about a Gibson, a Rickenbacker, a Sadowsky, a Modulus, a Zon or indeed any other bass that is not a Fender you will ALWAYS get the answer that you should really get a Fender P-Bass.

Did you not get the memo that there is no other bass even deemed worthy of consideration [/sarcasm]

my main bass since 2008 has been a cherry red 1992 Gibson LPB-1 (thunderbird p/ups,Passive,3 knob) i love it great sound great neck and balances fine.
