Gibson SG and Epiphone SG bass

Hello and welcome to TB!
I've owned a few Epis and I'm pretty sure they use Mahogany for nearly all their stuff.
My Epi, for example, is Mohagany body and neck with a rosewood fretboard.

For an incredibly short time, I owned an Epi EB-3, and it was quite possibly the worst bass I've ever owned...and I've owned quite a few...pretty much all makes and scales.
The neckdive on the EB-3 was so bad, that it was almost unplayable, no matter what kind of reasonable strap I used.
Is the Gibson SG bass any better in the balance department?
