Thanks in advance for your responses. I'm looking for ways to improve the sound of my Gibson SG bass (2009). No matter what I play it through, the E & A strings exhibit dissonant overtones. Some quick history; I'm a pick player and use steel strings, usually DR High Beams. I started with a Line 6 750 (not a great amp) tried an old Peavey Mark IV, recently went to a better setup with a Sansamp RBI and a Yamaha 3500 power amp. I also had a direct replacement Hipshot bridge installed. The only constants in the process are the bass and an Avatar 2x12 cabinet. I'd like to hang on to the bass as it plays very well. Pickup replacement is not an option as there don't seem to be any for the bridge pickup which is all I generally use. I live in the wilds of Myrtle Beach. I can get a reasonable setup, but my resources are extremely limited here. Thanks again.
