Gift card! What to get?

My friend gave me a $100 gift card for Guitar Center (a true friend indeed!)!
Thinking of some kind of pedal, need a compressor, but want something more to play with, but wondering about DIs- are thier adjustable compressors on most DIs?

Not sure if I am asking the right question so please correct me.

Looking at everything from the zoom MS 60 B to the MXR M80 di (used), and all points between.
Suggestions?

From my experience, avoid Zoom pedals. All they have done is give me grief in the past, be it battery failing or just digitisation of the signal so it sounds horrible.

MXR is a safe choice for quality

I think the general TB consensus is that the Zoom MS-60B (and the B3) are far superior to old Zoom units and don't deserve any negative connotation people might get from Zoom.

If I had $100 to blow at Guitar Center and couldn't find a great deal on a used item I was interested in, I would probably get the MS-60B.

I would say it's very rare for a compressor to have a DI, although bongomania's reviews at www.ovnilab.com would be a better resource to say for sure.

I like my MXR M87 compressor, I think it is $189ish new, so it would be a good price after your gift card.

Actually wondering if DIs have compression as well as distortion etc.

Some preamps have both a DI output and OD/distortion, like the MXR M80+ you mention. The Darkglass B7K is another example, I'm sure there are others, but GC probably only carries the MXR and not most of the boutique stuff.

I really can't think of any units that have both a DI output and compression, except for the fact that OD/distortion automatically create compression as a side effect. But they don't have compression in the same way I think you're asking about, like a compression pedal like the M87.
