I'd go vintage with a tasteful Acid Bath with Pogo
All my work clothes became “play clothes” when I retired so I’m not buying a darn thing. That being said, some light-colored linen shirts (untucked, no squared-off tails) would be appropriate.

A bit caustic, perhaps, but I’d agree in principle with most of that. It may be AI, but that guy depicted is the very visual definition of a schlub.
This is why I like playing in punk/hardcore/whatever bands - we all look like schlubs!
No it's still dumb because shorts on stage are in fact appropriate for some music styles and even with pants one can look stupid so it's better to give useful advice instead of making sweeping generalisations and nonsense.
