Gimme Some Lovin (bass newb question)

So spencer davis group - gimme some lovin. Where is the 1? Is it the low octave that is emphasized? Was watching a video on the groove chart with (1 e + a 2 e + a 3e + a 4 e + a) etc just trying to figure out how the bass groove fits on that.

The tune is in 4/4 - the bassline is eighth notes : 1 + 2 + 3 4
Beat 3 is a quarter note.
The low G is on beat 4, a quarter note.
IME.

Edit - I corrected the "E" to a "G". The tune is in "G". (I've usually played it in "E", Sorry!)
