12 lbs. is what I saw advertised a couple of years ago when I bought it, very light, sounds good, besides stacking try spreading apart and put it near the drummer.
Well, the GK website has the MB150S combo listed at 26 lbs. It has the MB150S head at 10 lbs and the MBX cab at 12 lbs.
Where's the extra 4 lbs coming from on the combo? I believe the 12lbs is not accurate. Do a quick search and I think others have posted that the MBX is a little heavier than 12 lbs.
The size that the MB cab is at, making it smaller would drastically lower its low end, or its sensitivity, or both. I think it's a pretty good compromise.
The Wizzy 10, JazzAmp 10 Bass and Schroeder Mini10+L all clock in around 16 to 17 lbs which makes them all actually lighter than the MBX112 at 17.5 lbs. The sizes are within the same range with the JazzAmp 10 Bass (due to be released on Dec 1) being the closest in size. The Wizzy 10 sounds infinitely better better than the MBX112 and I suspect that the JazzAmp and the Schroeder do too.
o really. I think i have come across a wizzy 10. You say it is lighter, but arent the dimensions bigger??. I like the 112 because of its dimensions. I could be wrong tho, but i thought the wizzy 10 was a little cumbersome despite its smaller weight. If im wrong let me know!! I need to check them out.
The MBX 112 is 13.75"W x 13"H x 8.5"D. The Wizzy 10 is 12"W x 15"H x 11"D. As you can see they are not that far apart. The MBX 112 is not as deep which is important but I can tell you that the Wizzy 10 depth is still very comfortable to carry unlike the Epi UL-110 which feels a lot more cumbersome. IMO, the depth is more critical than anyone other dimension when it comes to carryability. The JazzAmp 10 Bass is 14"W x 14"H x 10"D. The Epi UL110 is 13 3/4"H x 17"W x 12 1/2"D.
