GK 700RB-II Question

This may be a stupid question but I have a fender 4x10 cab im running with my 700RB-II head so I know you cant use the biamp feature with it since it isnt a GK compatible head

The Fender has a horn thats not adjustable just a switch to Fullblast or -6db

So my question is does the tweeter knob on my GK do anything with this configuration and is it ok to have my tweeter all the off (or all the way left) when the horn is actavated on the fender?

If someone could also explain to me the advantages or disadvantages to having a horn as im a beginner bassist and have only been playing a couple of weeks

Your tweeter knob on 700RB II has no effect unless you hook the amp with a GK cable through a GK cab. Your amp is running a full range 480W to your cab, and you adjust your tweeter on your cab. So technically, it doesn't matter how you set your tweeter knob on the amp, so just have it all the way off.

Advantages are a personal thing - I myself am not fond of tweeters, but they're ok for slap I guess. But I don't like ultra highs, I prefer a more vintage like tone, so when I play my 700RB II, I have a woofer hi cut on (nothing above 5khz is sent to my cab).
It all depends if you want a hi fi tone, vintage, dark, bright, etc.
