GK 700RBII or 1001RBII?

Hmm, is there any harm to the head if u use guitar cables? I'm only using them until I get the 410RBH... It'll be on speakons from then on. I'll prolly get it in a few months, but this year definately.
Now the second thing as I read here is this - why do you actually think that the 1001RB-II lacks the growl? You can get a lot more growl by tweaking the biamp knobs even on low volume.
I was testing this head on my hartke xl 4.5 and some crate cab with eminence speakers with my friend. We tried both his sterling, and my sting5, combining both cabs first separated, then combined together. How the hell can u get more growl than this? Maybe it's cos of my magnets on the sting5 which are ceramic (my sting was made in 2007), which seem to be punchier and more growling than alnico magnets. I compared my ceramic magnet sting with my friends alnico sting, and my sting was definately punchier. Ok whatever.
On the official EB forum, ppl say, that for the 410RBH the 700RB-II is kind of too weak to get the full potential of that cab, so the 1001RB-II is more reccomended. So I'm kind of glad that I went with the 1001RB-II as this cab is what I want, as I want to get the flea sound. Flea uses this cab so it's the closest I'll get to his tone.

Hmm, really, I thank you for clearing this up. I never knew that. I really hope my head isn't damaged. How can I check if it's damaged or not?
Even the instructions which are included, when you buy this head don't warn you not to connect cabs with guitar cables... Hmpfh...
Is a speaker cable good enough for this head not to damage itself or is the speakon the only choice?

I do believe the guys on the EB forum are full of it. I can imagine any cab that the 700 couldn't push.
I asked the same question you did a while back, I took the advice of the forum and saved some money and got the 700rbII. I'm perfectly happy, Ive played out door gigs with two 410 neo cabs, no problems at all with volume.

So, any1 knows if my head got damaged in 3 weeks of playing @460W (it was on 8 ohms), maybe altogether 4 days, each day an hour or two, at a volume 1-2/10, while using guitar cable?
How can I check the damage if it is a possibility that there could be damage?
Although other than transistors blowing up, I couldn't imagine what could go wrong. And nothing exploded, the head still works just fine. So no damage was done to the head then?
I need to go to music shop right tommorrow and buy a speaker cable. Will that be enough?

I've heard that speakons are better for 500w+ signals, but I severely doubt that's actually the case.
A speaker cable and a speakon are going to do the same thing, and sound exactly the same... its just the connectors are different.
