GK Backline 210 noise in the knobs.

Picked up a 210 backline awhile back and over the years its developed some noise in the volume and boost knobs. Just curious if I could just pick up some circuit board/contact cleaner and spray off the board and into the knob area to clean them up?

This sounds like a good way to insure that the amp becomes a doorstop.

Spray nothing on the board, if you wish to try with at least some possibility of success (assuming it's really "dirty pots", it could easily be something else like leakage offset) spray a TINY (yes the smallest amount possible) of Caig DeOxit D5 (nothing else) into the slots at the bottom of the pots and rotate a few times. Less is more here.

the last thing a tech wants to see is some random miracle spray into pots and on the PCB. We charge a lot more to rectify such messes in the shop, it eats up time and causes all kinds of random problems.

Thanks aged horse, I'll try the deoxit on one pot and see what the outcome is. If it doesn't clean up I'll bring it in.
