GK Backline 600 discontinued?

While on Muscicians Friend today I was looking at GK stuff and
I noticed that ALL of the Backline stuff was gone including the
Backline 600. Anyone know why? Discontinued?
They got great reviews from what I've read'

If it was just out of stock it would have said "Out of Stock".
Too much competition for the other comparable amps? IDK

I'm wondering if they're not selling enough and have decided to use the factory floor space and workers to make more lightweights. For each model number, I'd assume that there's some quantity units sold below which the spreadsheets show it's time to call it quits and move resources to models that are newer and selling better. It's possible the MB200 killed off the BL600, despite its lack of flexibility. Maybe the MB800 can be built on the same floor space where the BL600 is going end of life. That is, IF the EOL rumors are true.

All conjecture, of course.

B-string, that's the one with the fan, correct? I mean not the early one that was all convection cooled?

I'm really scratching my head over why they'd want to do this. Wondering how replacing a midrange amp with another midrange amp is going to help the bottom line. Does the 400 have that much of a cult status, or does it sound that much better than the BL?

Also Mr. G stated some months ago on these boards that the BL is their most-reliable model. Why would they want to EOL the thing?

Hey, I just had a thought. What if... they're going to make it a switcher from power cord to speaker out. Use either the 500W or 1000W B&O ASP board, keep the GK preamp, just like they're doing with the MB series. What would it weigh? 10 pounds at most? Now that really would be a new 400RB. (Except the power rating wouldn't match the model number.)

Just playing Guess The Secret Plan........
