I just got a gk 212 neo and one of the drivers was scratchy. Sounded exactly like a fried voice coil. Blown driver? No. I pulled the driver out and messed with where the wires connect to the driver. If I put pressure on it the scratchy sound went away. I noticed the cardboard that holds the wire connector to the basket is held on with a Phillips screw. It was loose. Tightened that up and good to go. I'm guessing this happens allot with these drivers. The screw is going to come loose with those vibrations. Seems like a design flaw to me. While I was in there I soldered the leads in place for good measure.
