GK MB Fusion. Noisy DI

I have used my Fusion amp for a couple of gigs this week. And for several reasons i wanted to go direct from the amp. The result was not good at all. Very noisy. Couldnt use it at all. Any GK mb fusuion players here with some tips? Is it just bad..or what?

Had the same experience 2x with my MB212 combo. Sound guy said it was too noisy to use. Would an overdose of neon near the stage effect the Direct out? Once last summer we ran our own sound to SRM450's and subs for an outdoor gig and it was noiseless. Go figure.

If a 48 volts signal (for say, passive DI or mic) is sent to the DI output, and the ground is lifted from the amp it could be the circuit is blown. Do a search on these Fusion DI outputs; there could be a switch, but if your model doesn't have one it's set either on or off but I'm not sure top of my headl(this had designer reasons).

Does anyone know if the MB Fusion is phantom protected?

I had no hum at all when i ran my mbfusion through the sound system.

Hum could mean the ground needs to be lifted, so if it's already lifted at the board then yes it's silent (it should be). But if the output's noisy (I assume it's not just humming?) it could be it's been lifted with phantom power coming from the board. The design thought behind it - I believe but can't find that thread anymore - is the ground should be lifted at the board.
