GK MB2 with a GK Neo 112.

Your the one in control of the volume and EQ on your amp. Use it wisely and they'll work great together! Don't crank the lows and volume to crazy settings and all will be fine.

Look at it this way. Your car can go probably 100 mph. But the speed limit is only 65 mph. So you need to control the gas pedal wisely right? ;) Enjoy

Chris Wood uses this set-up for his work with the Wood Brothers. Their stage volume is not extreme, so this works out very well for his application.

I have used the MB2 with Epi PS112 cabs, and the Neo112 cabs. I really like my PS112 cabs, but I have to admin, the Neo112 works VERY well with the MB2. I actually liked it better than the PS112 with this head.

One Neo112 works well. Two Neo112s are great, and can push a surprising amount of volume.

My Neos rattled a little, though. Not a serious problem, but GK may need to adjust the torque they use when the speakers are screwed to the baffle. Once I tightened the screws a little, no more rattle.

Does anyone use this set up? I was going to but now I look at the specs the head is going to put out more (350W @ 8ohms) than the cab can handle (300W @ 8ohms). Any experiences/opinions??:hmm:

you'd have more of a prob if it was the other way around.
an underpowered amp...say, 200 watts... into a 300 watt cab will do more damage to the speaker when you push the amp hard and make the cab reproduce the resultant square waves.

i wouldn't worry

cheers
