Gk MB500 and Ampeg SVT410HLF

GK heads and Ampeg cabinets go very well together.

I used to run a 1001RBII through an Ampeg 610HLF. It was a killer rig, but I sold it when I moved to Austin because I wasn't sure if I'd get in a band here.

I kept my GK 800RB and Ampeg 4x8 and have been using that at gigs ever since. It's not as ear shattering as the 1001RBII/610 setup, but it sounds great none the less.

I'm sure the MB500 will sound great through that cab as well (I had one for a while, but sold it because it was more than I needed, and wasn't easy to move around - I'm a tall guy, and it was awkward bending over to roll that cabinet.)

Personally, I'd like to try an MB500 Fusion through an Ampeg cabinet. I bet that would really sound great.

And, another thing, if you can get your hands on one (haven't seen them in stores around here yet)... Ampeg just came out with the PF350 and PF500 heads. I'm sure they'd sound killer (especially the PF500) through an Ampeg 410HLF or 610HLF or even the 810 cabinets. They're priced a bit less than the GK head as well.

i've done a handful of regular sized gk heads with ampeg cabs before. i liked it fine but i like them with ampeg heads so much more. that said, i do like gk heads...just not as much as ampeg.

Boy Boy Boy, Its so hard to try and figure out what amp/cab combo to buy if i can't play them first.
tru dat. but i've found that by and large, a lot of people's descriptions on here about gear they've played are pretty accurate to what i think, so at the very least you should be able to form a short list of stuff you might be interested in.
