Does plugging into the return of the effects loop (without plugging into the send) mute the main input?

Yea, I think it does...and the mute and volume knobs become worthless...

I got my names of the knobs wrong...
Plugging a cable into the return bypasses the preamp (gain, mute, contour). You can still use the master knob, which is the final amp volume. The gain channel should still work too.

Thanks - I'm trying to figure out if I can plug 2 basses in at the same time. 1 in to the main input on the front and 1 into the effects return. On some amps I've owned plugging into the effects return mutes the main input so you cant do this. On others it doesn't and works fine for dual inputs.
