GK Neo 115 Pair, Anyone?

1 How does a pair of Neo 115s compare with a single Neo 410 or a single Neo 212, in terms of volume and power handing?

2 It has been said that the (GK)115 cab is a bit more shy on the deep lows. Is it still quite "full range" sounding?

The 115 stack would be equivalent to the 410 and a bit more than the 212 which is equivalent to a 310.

The 115 does not have deep lows, it's funny how it's got the least lows of the neo line. Don't let that scare you in the least! If you have a warm amp or bass and need to make the lows more defined this is your cab. It's aggressively voiced while the 12s are more vintage.

Neither is bad, it's just about what works for you! Outdoor gigs neither the 115 stack or 212 would have carried me without pa support last show . For that the neo 412 made it happen.

I had a great gig with the neo 115 a few weeks back in doors. I have no cab gas except if I hit the lottery I'd get a fearless stack 115s for$2400

Thanks. Your observations echo what little I've heard from people who have tried all three models.

The only one I've heard was the 410, along with an MB200 head at Guitar Center. Sounded really good. On paper, the 212 probably has the sound I think I want.

My dilemma: No matter which cab I choose, I'd like to stack two. But a pair of Neo 212's is more weight, more money and more car space two 115's.

I can keep the rear seat up in my small Honda fit with the 2 115s. They are super light for their size & power. I tried the GK NEO 112 & I wouldn't feel comfortable at a lot of gigs with that stack indoors at the volume we play at with the five string. The 115s aren't that much bigger.

A 212 212 stack is killer though, really everything you'd ever want man & the way I'd go if you think you'll be playing outdoors with no PA support

I've used a LOT of stuff on both the 12s & 15s so I can give you a good read if interested. I'm personally rolling with Genz Benz heads... Streamliner 900 & Shuttlemax 9.2.

I like the Streamliner on the 115s to tame the cabs mids & for the cab to tame the Streamliners lows.
Shuttlemax 9.2 with the GK NEO 412 lets me get any & every tone... the bass is the limiting factor.

GK 1001RB is a great pairing with either NEOs. I'm not a fan of the MB series with the 115s as its aggressive meets aggressive & its hard to dial out.

Thanks for all of that. I haven't tried out as many newer heads as I'd like, but have really been considering the GK MB800.

Your comment about the MB head with the Neo 115 was unfortunately what I expected to hear.

Runnin' a pair of 115-IIIs now.

They are cabs that at high volume will have the mids overshadow your lows if you don't judiciously EQ your tone. If I was an active jazz/stainless steel string sorta guy, these would not be my cab of choice. Upper-mid city. But I use a pretty warm bass, with older strings, into an mbfusion - so not really an issue for me.

Absolutely right on, high mid city for real. It REALLY helps add that dimension to a bass if it doesn't have it...

Watch out at loud volumes because it will beam those mids. You actually have to cut the high mids more as your volume goes up

Just came back from playing at church. You would think its "too much" for church but with the Streamliner it has all the lows & warm tone I need plus the GK presence in the mids for fills. Treble is sweet round & punch vs hissy & shrill which is perfect for church

Love the combo of these 2. Its great to be gas free!

Yeah - for reals - mbfusion into 1 or 2 115s is my worship rig.

Well..it's my only rig to be honest.

Anyways...it works good.

GAS free? For me, since anything fearful (including eminence drivers) is not possible ($$ wise) in NZ, I am a little bit taken with the Bergantino HD212 - mainly because of that open deep low end.

But a NEO410 would probably get me 90% there for about 60% of the cost.
