GK or Eden?

The Mesa head is excellent, tons of power, but tube amps can be heavy and a pain. Ampeg gear tends to sound muddy. The GK rig will give you an aggressive, responsive, in your face, nasty-in-a-good-way tone.

I dig Eden gear. The WT550 into a 4-ohm 212XLT is powerful, loud, phenomenal sounding, with a versatile buttery smooth to growly aggressive tone. If you're a very fast slapper then get the GK rig - otherwise, I highly recommend the Eden.

Note, too, that these rigs will sound very different depending on the player, the bass, the settings, etc. Any rig can sound great but I've heard GK, Mesa, Ampeg, even Aguilar rigs that have sounded like ass... but I've never heard an Eden rig that sounded less than great, even when driven by a newbie on a Squire.

I also agree with the GK Head and Eden Cab. It's what I'm running now for both studio and live.... LOVE IT!!

And can't you just purchase them and return them within 30 days or so if you don't like them? That way you can mix and match and see what you like.

...I think people are a little hasty to knock the GK cabs.

I've used a 410XLT in the past, I've never owned one, but I gigged with one for a few weeks running off an 800 watt rack rig. It has great tone, as many people have stated already, and I've always regarded it as one of the best cabs I've ever played through.

I'm currently running the 410SBX with a Yorkville 400B. And it has been the holy grail of rock for me, picture half of an Ampeg fridge with a tweeter. It's punchy as hell, handles a low B like a champ (even in large rooms with no PA support) and it is IMO much, much louder than the Eden.

I have a GK 1001RB11 and 2 Neo 212 cabs. I also own an Eden 1205 with a 410xst and a 210 xst cabinets. The Neo cabinet is actually 4 pounds lighter than the eden 210xlt. I traded in an eden metro, pretty much a 550/210xlt combo amp because it wasn't loud enough in some situations. Although I Like the eden tone better, the Gk sounds great too. If you are worried about volume I would go with the Gk rig I have. I could Use just one Neo212 and be loud enough at any place I play. If you do go with the edn rig try and get a 4 ohm xlt to get the most power out of your amp.
