GK or Eden?

Hi, I am looking for a head + 210 cab. I have up to 2000$ to spend. I heard both GK 800RB + GK 210SBX cab, and Eden WT550 + 210XLT. They both sound amazing but I think I will go with Eden. I am not sure yet...
I play mainly funk and I like the punch and growl a serious amp can deliver.
Any recommendations? I can also consider other brands.

You want to do this with a 210 only? Open to the possibility of a 212? Give the GK Neo212 a try with the 700RB-II. More power plus a wonderful biamp.

I prefer buying everything on the same store, so it has to be the same brand. I can mix Hartke SWR and Fender but I rather not buy these...

You could pick up some good quality used stuff from the site right here. At quick glace there is a Bag End D10XD for $350 and a Eden WT800 for $850 or an EA IAMP 800 for $775....

It would cost you half of what your budget is and would be better stuff!

Most people love eden. It is hard to tell which is considered better as it depends on your ears. Moneywise here in Australia GK is cheaper then Eden but not necessarily cheaper made probably just different marketing. You should try and a b them at a bass shop and hear the difference playing through your own bass or something similar. There are soooo many options now its confusing. A 210 cab is a great way to start just make sure you get a head that goes to 2 ohm so you can add another cab later. Id go eden as i like the warmth more then GK but each to their own. Hell flea has been happy with GK . Decisions decisions.

Strawberry or chocolate? Very much a personal taste thing. I personally like the GK clarity, quickness and punch. For the money you're talking about I'd pick up a GK 1001RB-II and a Neo 2x12 in heartbeat. Then I'd add a GK Neo 1x15 if and when you thought you needed it.
You really need to take any opportunity and play both in order to determine what works for you. They're both great companies, great amps/cabs and great set-ups.

the xlt cab is deffinitely of much higher quality than the sbx stuff that GK makes, to make it comparable you would have to be trying the RBH series cabs probabaly....the 550 head is a monster as well...i get a decent tone form my GK 700rb, but i would deffinitely vote eden!

I used a GK head and an eden 210 for a long while. lBanks has the cab now. Eden and GK are both great stuff. GK is considered clean and quick, whereas Eden is generally more round and warm. Of course, this generally seems to depend a lot on the eq settings as well. Both are a good choice.
