Can someone tell me what advantage the 4-connector GK Speakon cable offers over standard 2-connector Speakon cable? tia.

You need the 4 conductor cable if you are BiAmping the cabinet. Some amps have a BiAmped output

SpeakON +1, -1 are for the woofers. +2,-2 are for the high range drivers.

...and you can safely use that cable with any speakon equipped amp and cab as well...in that case the 2+ and - wires and connectors are simply not connected to anything.

GK Fusion 550 is an example of an amp that has biamped output.

GK Neo cabs have a switch on the back for biamp setting. the 4 conductor cable is used to feed each driver.
The GK 1001RB and other models in that line have separate controls for the woofer and tweeter.
This can be useful but in general I run them full range to be honest.
