gkmb210 questions

I just bought a used GK MB 210 combo (I like it so far, I haven't gigged with it yet)
I've read the many post on here regarding bracing and damping, and I plan to do those mods. MY question is regarding the phase issue when you use an extension cab.

My understanding is that the internal speakers are wired correctly but the extension jack is reversed ? or is it the other way around.

I'm sure I.m not the only one that would like to know EXACTLY what the wiring problem was, that required owners to ship the units back to GK for a "simple fix"

I (like many others) are capable of fixing this ourselves if We Know the EXACT problem. I plan on modding this thing so I can use it as a combo or use as a 210 cab if the amp section craps out unexpectedly.

I have been using GK amps ( rb400 rb 800 rb700 for many years with no problems but Im somewhat worried that this amp could let Me down so I want to cover all the angles.
You may be thinking , then why did you buy it?
This thing is so light ,compared to anything I've used, And it sounds good to My ears (so far)

If it doesn't sound way more huge adding the extension cab it will when you fix it.

Yeah, wait till you try it first. If it sounds much bigger, it's all good. If it sounds less bigger, then you need to rewire one or the other.

When I plugged in my extension cab ( an EV TL 606 design with a Kappalite 3015 ) It didn't sound like I would have hoped.
I'll try reversing one end of a speaker cable , see how that works , before I open up the amp. Thanks guy's

Update on my used GK MB 210: I reversed one end of a speaker cable and then plugged in my extension cab. WOW what a difference. On these combo's ( or at least the one I have) the extension jack is wired backwards ( old news, I know) but I want to keep this info out there for anyone who is not aware.

I Have not giged with this set up yet, But this thing sounds great with my MIJ p-Basses, clear and deep all at the same time, not muddy at all, sounds like it will cut through anything. I just hope it last.

I know there are a lot of threads on this site about this amp and its siblings ,but I want all owners to keep posting their experiences. Good or Bad More to come
