So, I'm doing this mostly original music trip-hop group and one of the covers we do at shows really brings the house down:

That's our bands cover of the Portishead classic. Only that recording was a sample. Now that they have a real bass player, I'm left trying to get that sound using the gear I have (see sig).

What I tried last night was this: switched to neck pup only, turned the bass high knob all the way off. I think it was pretty good, but the one thing I seem to lack is dampening. I suppose I could get something to wedge under the strings by the bridge?

Advice?
