Going rate for lessons?

Im sure this varries greatly, but have considered lately taking up either general music lessons or bass lessons.

What is a going rate/lesson or /month from a competent teacher?

Also, if anyone knows one to recomend in the Dallas, Texas area, that would also be very appreciated. Thanks!

The going rate for San Francisco is around $40-50/hr. It can vary fairly wildly.

I'm paying $50/hr (in Maryland), but I've heard of guys paying more..

I've found that the average rate can vary from about $20-45/hr. My teacher charges me $15 per half hour, but he usually sticks around for about an hour and a half or so, which doesn't bother me one bit. More bang for my buck !! My teacher is in Ft Worth and I don't really know of any in the Dallas area. Hope ya find something.
