Just walk around the old city and be sure to stay in an auberge rather than in a big hotel (much more charming and usually cheaper).

Bah..I've driven in NYC, Washington DC, Warsaw, Paris.. Quebec will be cake. (I may require massive amounts of good Canadian beer later though!)

Driving in Quebec is easy, the Bridge Pierre-Laporte can be a bit painful at times but it's really nothing to worry about. You can drive your car anywhere around without problems, except for the Old, in which case I'd recommend going by bus. Is your Inn in Levis? Just wondering as you said just outside of town, if so you can take the ferry to the Old city, which is the way to go.

Learning just a little French will go a long way. They will appreciate the effort. I was just in Mont Tremblant last week and up there that is all some speak.
Don't forget that speed limits and distances are posted in km.

You can always drive the short distance to Montmorency Falls. It's a bit more interesting in the winter I think but is still kind of cool to visit at other times of the year. You could also drive up the coast to Tadoussac. It's a bit of a trip but it's a really pretty area! But then again, you'll probably find plenty to do just sticking close-by to Quebec city...

You'll have to go back home with some Canadian staples like: 1) Kraft Dinner! Or as pronounced on South Park, "Kraff Dinnaaahhhh."
2) Three bags of milk.
And some poutine in your belly. It's a heart attack on a plate but you only live once!

As for driving in QC: The major thing I noticed is you don't get any warning for your exits; you won't see a sign that says, 'Whatever Street 3Km.' You're exit will just appear and you're in the wrong lane!

Try to learn a little bit of French!
