Going to Quebec in Oct..what to see?

To be honest, I really don't remember which restaurants. When we felt hungry we just stepped into any one that looked promising.. my 7 year old son kept on begging for pizza on Sunday afternoon so we stepped into "The Little Italy" (le Petit Italy?, I'm sure that my spelling is way off...) thinking it was going to be similar to a basic NYC pizzeria or something, nah totally different.
Like a typical NYC pizzeria, the pizza was awesome. But you guys use a different cheese or something, the flavor was similar of course, but it's the cheese that's different, really good. Then another place where we had a great lunch (and I got into the Griffon Rousse big time :bassist:) was the restaurant right at the steps leading down into the oldest part of town. Was it the Cliche or something like that..? the place was easy to walk by without noticing but the food was really good. There was one or two other places that I really cant remember.
I REALLY wanted to hit the Saint Patrick's Pub but never got the chance...meh, next time!!

We tried to stick to less expensive places mostly, so it was all good to be honest.

Bills - The one and only negative that we had was that someone at a Couche-Tard messed with our credit card.. we stopped and got gas and charged 30$ to our card at the pump. When we got back to our hotel room, I got an email from our bank asking if we just charged 121$ and 152$, yikes!! So I called the bank and got it straightened out but that kinda sucked. Still, living in NJ and being near NYC and Philly, I'm almost used to that sort of thing!

I tend to do so to, but I got tricked a few times into spending too much. Like one night with the ex we went to the Savini, well I got a 142$ bill for two persons. And that's without the tip. Never again, it was not THAT good. And I can't really afford that anyways.

Regarding moose - I haven't seen too many and they are more common further north, but even the slight risk of a collision with one warrants the signs. Hit a deer and chances are its only your car that will take a beating (well, your car and the deer); hit a moose and you likely won't be around to worry about the damage done to the car... :help:

Cool pictures!

Ah, you were at La cache, never stopped there but I've passed by often on my way to the "Petit Champlain".

Nowadays it seems like I just do the St-Jean street (used books stores, vinyl stores, European market, Vietnamese market/soup shop) and then head back home. All of my favorite pubs are on that street or very close to: Le bateau de nuit, Le St-Angele and Le Sacrilege (beautiful place). The first one only opens up at night, and unless somebody shows it to you you won't find it (no sign, suspicious door, stairs going up, you get the idea). But they always keep 5-6 good microbrews on tap.

I think I'm going to do just that tomorrow after my exam. Drink beer in the Old then head off to a show at some bar in St-Roch.
