Wow, what an honor.
I saw Ron Carter in the early 80s, at Baker's Keyboard Lounge in Detroit. As I recall, he was with Tommy Flanagan and Ed Thigpen. Once in a lifetime experience.

I have been fortunate enough to see Mr. Carter the past two years… it was quite a treat.
The 1st with Golden Striker 2023 the 2nd with Foursight 2024.
I know Ron must have been impacted by the recent death of Russel Malone when I saw him in September.. I saw him in September, 2024.
He had was recently back from the final concerts with Russell in Japan.
As a true professional he played impeccably.
Highly recommend to check Ron out if you get the chance.

Sorry for being so late with this replay. The show was beyond awesome. He came out to speak with the FOH guy discuss the stage setup about an hour before the show. He also came out to greet a large party at a table who were, I can only assume, family and friends. The band was beyond tight and beyond talented. I started out as a drummer and, aside from Mr. Carter, his drummer was flawless. All playing to promote ensemble cohesion.
On the way out, my wife muscled her way in to get his attention and take a pic with Mr. Carter, my nephew Phil (also a bassist), and Mr. Carter. My nephew told him "My uncle Ben and I a both bassists". He answered "So am I"!
