Are your fingers thundergutphobic? I know mine are, and sliding on a fretless with them would be a squeaky disaster.
Any news on the availability date? I'm guessing the shortbass set would work on the micro. Are they gonna sell them separately?
That's "thundergutphobia". Silicone and/or powder can ameliorate the issue, but I don't want to muck up my bass with the residue.
I'm going to go for the La Bella white tapewounds they're developing for the MicroBass. They are smooth, slick and sound great on my 30" scale fretless.

But - yup, one would expect to be able to slap a SBO replacement set on a GT MicroBass.
How do you change the strings on a Micro Bass? The strings look like they are mounted under the bridge.
Oh. "Phobia" makes it sound like fear of the strings, perhaps it's more of an "syndrome" (TGS?) than a phobia.
I forgot about the white Labella/MicroBass project. I use black Labella tapes on my other basses. I'll be looking for the Reds and Labellas and try whichever becomes available first.
Push the end of the string through the bridge hole from the top, pull the end of the string through the sound hole a bit, tie a knot at the end of the string, pull the knot up against the underside of the bridge, attach to tuner.
Woulda been nice if they put in a hatch like the ubass.

I guess a competent repairman could install a hatch.
For the Labellas I figured I'd just put a piece of light string or thread through the bridge hole from the top as a fish, tape it to the tuner end of the Labella string and pull it through the hole much as I do when installing pots/jacks/switches in a hollow/semi hollowbody instrument.
They should work using the same hole underneath, but I would recommend a plastic washer, too.
Good idea. I've used nylon locking nuts from the hardware store for things like that.
