Double Bass gonna be loud enough?

gonna be playing with a big band this summer (mostly URB, a little electric). need to replace my SWR WM15 (too boomy for jazz, too heavy for an old man). live in the sticks, so trying out some of the more esoteric stuff is not possible.

looking at the just-discontinued AI Coda SIII (tried my teacher's at lesson). like it very much, but don't know if it's going to have enough oomph to get me over a big band, without an extension cab.

any thoughts/experience?

You should be just fine with the Coda. It of course depends on the gig(the room, is it outside, etc), but the Coda does have a lot of power.

Nope, the Coda is the 2 channel version of the Contra. You're thinking of the Chorus.

we *do* play outdoors, but while I'll lose volume out there, so will the horn players. it's all relative...

(plus I think we use a sound system for outdoor venues, I'll just DI in there)...
