Hey guys, I've got a tube amp but I also use rackmount effects; I'm thinking why not get a rackmount amp as a backup incase my tube amp ever goes kaput in the middle of a show. Any suggestions? I've been looking at the mesa m6 and m9, as I'm going to be pushing a powerhouse 810.

Any suggestions appreciated! This would just go in the rack unit along with my sansamp + power conditioner + pedal drawer

If you can afford a nice amp like that as a backup, by all means get one. By all accounts they seem to be really nice amps.

Well, I'm not too sure if I'd want such an expensive backup in all honesty, but I'm looking for recommendations on any rackmount amp!

As a backup, consider the Mesa M3. Cheaper and lighter than the 6 and 9, with gobs of power and volume.

Wouldn't hurt to look at the M-Pulse 360/600's as well. Great amps, with a good DI. Worst case scenario should the Buster crap out, you just DI to the FOH and you'd be set for the rest of the show. I don't think you'd really need the power of the M9 as a backup, but if you can swing it, why not?

I'd just buy a good DI box or Radial Bone. While I too use tube Mesa's all these years, I certainly don't want or need to carry excess amps.

QSC PLX series. Great amps. Reliable and bridgeable!
I suggest buying used and only recommend this since you have a sansamp.

Otherwise, I say Crest 2.0 looks light weight but expensive.
