Good deal???

Hi guys, some days ago I posted about a '80s fender MIJ jazz bass some1 wanted to trade with me, well . . he decided to don't do it. .. so now another person is selling me a TRB 5 Strings but. . i can't find that model on any music store so i would like to know if it is a good deal and any extra information you could give about that bass. . . here is the pic

He's asking for 560 usd including hardcase and shipment. Thanks :bassist:

Two different beasts here. I am assuming the MIJ jazz was a 4 string. The bass you are looking at now is a 5 er and the neck is going to be significantly wider than the jazz. I have never played one but user reviews on that model are available here:

I am sure our fellow TB ers will be able to give you some personal feedback. Regarding price I did a little research and it looks like these basses sell for between 425 and 500 used on Ebay.

Oh yeah, I know that, but I think I'll need to get use to that some day, right? About the reviews, my problem is that the reviews doesn't show a pic of the product and I've searched about TRB 5 II basses but not I'm not sure if the reviews are about the same bass I'm temptated to buy. . . I saw there is 1005 series, TRB I, TRB II and other sreie I don't remember now. . . anyway thanks for your comments and help :D

TRB 5 II reviews are available here. I wouldn't be concerned about the lack of a picture. Most review sites don't include the option to post one.

I suspect the TRB 5 II is identical or very similar to the TRB 5 and was a later version of it. Regarding getting used to a 5 string, actually no, you may never need to. I have been playing fours for years now and have no desire or need to get a 5 string.

Got it! You're right. . . but I'm still curious about hahaha, anyway I wanna know if it is a good deal get it for that price :s Thanks :D

Not me! If this TRB 5 is an II then u should snap it up quickly! I owned the 4 string TRB4II for a few years and was killer - so easy to play and had a great range of tones! the neck is the best one ive played so far. balances superbly.
buy it, buy it now!:bassist:

Hahahaha yeah, in fact this guy is giving me facilities to buy it. . he's willing to wait till december to get the money from me xDDDD I just want to be sure the price is good, and the bass is better than the price xDDDDD , btw . . you said "If this TRB 5 is an II then u should snap it up quickly! I owned the 4 string TRB4II for a few years and was killer " dont you remember if you 4 stringer bass was ike this in shape and color ??? since there is like 4 versions or TRB's and that is one of my questions, is really a TRB II??? Thanks :D

oh i remember exactly what mine looked like - especially as i still have pics of it! i didnt realise i could enlarge that pic you had of the 5er - i had a closer look and its definately a
TRB 5II - which is great! the earlier ones, from what i remember had jazz like pups, a strange cutaway of the top wood where you might expect a scratch plate, and i think they were all neckthru.
to give you an idea of price - i got mine for US$1200 new pack in 2000 and that was a good price!
btw heres a pic of my baby - how i miss her:bawl:

thanks she was pretty. yeah the 5er in your pic is definately a bolt-on which i actually prefer as they seem to be more dynamic!
its the older series that are neck thru.
